Debbie Sobeski has been married to her husband, Mickey since August 1984. They have three children – Hannah, Michael, and Andrew. They are active members of First Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC. She received her BS degree in Accounting from West Virginia University and an Associate degree from the Sherwood School of Music. In the fall of 1984, while her husband was in graduate school, the Lord began growing in her heart a deep love for His word through the ministry of Bible Study Fellowship. She was involved in BSF for 14 years. In the early 90’s Debbie was challenged through the ministry of Moms In Touch to be very deliberate in praying over the lives of her children, the schools they attended and their teachers.

In the spring of 2006, her daughter, Hannah, then 17 years old, was diagnosed with a rare form of sarcoma cancer. The next several months involved a fight for Hannah’s life as they spent 77 days at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston Texas. They were able to come back to Spartanburg in September of that year, participate in Hannah’s high school’s Homecoming and be surrounded by family and friends. God’s plan and purpose for Hannah’s life was to take her to be with Himself on the 9th of November 2006 and leave behind an incredible legacy of faith. Six days before Hannah left this earth she did a powerful interview with a local newscaster sharing her faith in Jesus Christ. Hannah’s Hope Ministries was birthed after Hannah’s death to share hope with those in the midst of life crisis. Debbie’s desire is to point to the healing power that can only come through the Word of God.
